"Explain it to me like I'm a designer."
Remember in "Philadelphia," Denzel Washington had that great line? "Now, explain it to me like I'm a four-year-old." Well, I'm not a four-year-old, but I'm also not a programmer. I'm just a designer, looking for a CMS that, in the words of a testimonial on this very site, "actually [works] right and [doesn't] require reading through a 200 page pdf in order to learn how to use it." Actually, I'd kinda like to have that pdf...because as slick and promising as Concrete looks when you browse the site, the documentation leaves a LOT to be desired.
What I need to know is: does any resource exist for explaining Concrete like I'm a designer? In other words: explaining in a linear fashion, from start to finish, Step A to Step Z, and without assuming prior knowledge of underlying programming concepts, how to create a Concrete5 website from scratch. (And by that, I mean using my own design, and not just downloading a template.)
Maybe this has come up before, and maybe it's even been covered in depth...but I can't find it. I don't even know if this is the right forum to pose this question. But thanks to anyone who can help.

Also, you don't have to be a php or mysql guru to learn Concrete5. It is pretty intuative but no one is gonna do the work explaining everything in detail. No one has written a be-all/end-all document either.
So be patient and first go through the docs in the Documentation area. Join us on IRC or post a question or two on the forums. Sometimes you won't get an answer right away (if at all) if it has been asked over and over and over. It will be on the forums, you just may have to dig.

Here's the link to Bill's 'Beginner's Guide that he was talking about. (Although I'm not sure if this is the most updated version of it).

I do need to send you one that is more up to date Chris. Need to rewrite some things as it pertains to 5.4.x.
Will send early next week.
Will send early next week.
Bill, that would be great!
I know exactly where you are coming from since I am more of a designer than developer. So if you need some pointers, pvt msg me and I will do what I can.
BUT, as you know from being a designer trying to put a site up in strict HTML, you will have to read and ensure your server(s) are set up to use Concrete5. Again, that info is all over the sight.
There are several documents on here that should get you started (mine is somewhere on here or at Chris's sitehttp://www.c5mix.com).
