Dashboard Access when concrete5.org is offline

Hi all,

We are currently testing Concrete5 at the office and last week-end, my collegue made some extra hours at home. He's passionate you see.

Playing around, he tried to access the dashboard on his local xampp server while the concrete5 website was down (hasard).

Guess what, if concrete5.org doesn't respond anymore, not luck to access your Dashboard.

Try to set a unavailable IP to concrete5.org in your host file, flush your DNS and browser cache and try access your Dashboard again...

He first thought it may come from the news, but unfortunately, we see there is a time out there.

Any idea anyone?

Thats weird. Can't say I've experienced this problem myself. This site has been pretty reliable as far as up time goes for as long as I've been here.

When you say you couldn't access the dashboard, did you get an error or did the browser time out? Also what version are you running?

Just thinking out loud, maybe it had something to do with the boxes pulling info from here into the dashboard. i.e the latest news stuff etc. I guess its possible that if those items couldn't be sourced then the dashboard may not load correctly? But i'm just guessing.

The browser timed out (forever spining wheel)?

Well, at least, we could reproduce the bug in 5.3.3.1 using the host file.

I just updated from 5.3.3.1 to 5.4 and it seems fine now.

I am having the same problem right now. When I try to access the dashboard by signing in, it redirects me and says "page not found- No pages could be found at this address - Go Back home"
Also, all the pages don't appear.

Currently using version 5.4
Can anyone please help?
Thanks,
Real Beginner

Yep, Same problem. Parts of dashboard don't work if concrete5.org is offline. Could be sorted with a timeout and a response as such?
