Anyone manage to edit on a tablet?

One of our editors wants to edit her section on a tablet. Simply adding a sub page isn't possible because you can't hover on a tablet. Anyone found a way round this?

She should still be able to 'Click'.. does that not work anymore?

Of course, but when you hover you get the "add a sub page" link, which isn't there when you click.

It may depend on the tablet she's using... I just tried it on the iphone and it works fine!

Click on 'Edit' -> See the drop-down menu for "Edit this page" & "Add a sub-page" -> Click on "Add a suub-page" -> See the options for the page-type etc..

She's using a Samsung S running chrome. It doesn't do what your iphone does. As soon as you click the edit button it goes straight to edit mode without showing the options. My Xoom and my Samsung 5 are the same.

Hmmm... that is a little weird. I also tried it on the ipad and I get the same functionality as with the phone. Is chrome the default browser for the phone (even though it shouldn't really make a difference)?!... maybe try the default browser and see if it does the same thing?!

Actually when you click on the edit button on a desktop machine it goes straight to edit mode so your iphone is doing something the desktop doesn't?

Not really.. this is sort of the standard behaviour for any touch screen device that has to interact with a drop-down menu. I get this with all websites that have a drop-down.... even on my old Samsung S3. Thats why I'm a little puzzled! :/

I just tried it with FF and Dolphin and it's still the same. However, if you touch the button and move you finger down the click isn't registered and the option screen appears. Not ideal but a way round it for now. Touch friendly admin area in next version please C5

what i normally do is tap and hold on the edit button until the tablet's/phone's (I only use Android) dialog box pops up, click the back button, and then the hover menu is there open ;)

Could this be the way samsung handles the drop-down navigation menus (To click -> hold -> swipe down)?! I have to admit... never had a problem with the drop down menus on any website using the iphone or ipad. (Not a plug for a Apple... just an observation)

Neither do I, but this button is coded to respond wrong, even for the desktop. The click should show the option screen not the hover, it used to in previous versions. It happens all the time when people build menus, I think it's inherited form desktop development and the fixation with flyout/rollout menus. We take care with our apps to ensure that they can be operated on a tablet or phone, it's how it is now.
