Someone just helped me, I said thank you and s/he said, "Great, mark the best answer please!" and it just occurred to me that maybe I've accidentally dissed a lot of people by not marking their very helpful answers. I will remedy that as time allows by going through and marking them.

Yes, it matters. It's not only for me, but for people who have the same problem. Instead of reading the whole thread looking for the right answer, they can simply look for the 'Best Answer' which will solve their problem.
Yeah, I've done it sometimes, especially with really long threads where the answer is hard to find. Just didn't think to do it every time. BTW, look what I just did! ;)
