Fantastic news.

Those that use concrete5 know it is a phenomenal system. We constantly get feedback from happy clients as to how easily they can make edits. From a development point of view it's so flexible and extendable. It's a problem-solving powerhouse.

The only thing that concrete5 seems to lack is a broader 'buzz' around it on the web. You see articles and blog posts about other CMS, which in comparison to concrete5 present hacky and disjointed solutions, yet the critical mass of the audiences make it seem like they are leading the way.

We need to get concrete5 out there into the mainstream discussion about web development. Show the web its P-P-P-P-POWER.

So much time, blood, sweat and tears have gone into developing concrete5. You only have to look at github to see the enormity of the work. More recently with 5.7 it feels like the quality of the codebase overall has kicked up a notch, with there being a strong commitment to addressing outstanding issues and bugs.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a CMS with features as extensive as concrete5 AND with a codebase that is so well built. Code accepted into concrete5's core isn't just a case of 'does it work', it's a case of 'is this the right way to handle this now and going into the future'.

With 5.7 reaching such maturity, and the marketplace continuing to fill with add-ons, now is a great time to heavily promote the platform and attract more users and developers.

I have no doubt that Jessica's appointment is going to really going to make a big difference, but we all have to remember that it's a community effort. Now is the time where we should ALL be ramping up efforts of promotion! Build great sites, Tweet things, blog things, put your work on github, show it to your colleagues and show what concrete5 can do.
