C5 Hosting

Either I'm Blind or stupid but there must be something around here...
Is there any documentation on getting started with C5 hosting?
I have just bought a C5 hosting package and can get into the control panel and see the files that were pre installed but I have no way of getting ti the front end and start adding content.
Is there a step by step guide to getting your files from you local machine to the Host and then edit live in a testing area (or something)

I don't think your stupid. The button on the top navigation/edit should have a button stating "return to web site", click that and you should see the default theme. You can begin to edit there or upload your own theme.
Not sure what the C5 hosting packages entail since I host separately.

haha, sorry wrong control panel. I mean't for the hosting CP.
Having said that. the email gives me details of a pre-installed version of C5. Actually this Hasn't been installed and you need to do it yourself, unfortunately I am yet to source or the database details...
I had always assumed this process (purchasing and running a C5 hosting package) would of been an easy process...

Contact Franz directly. Something may have gone wrong.
So you have to set up the database through:
"MYSQL Database Wizard"
I am now installed and up and running but still have issue with FTP.
Also the version on the Hosting side is an older version.... I hope I can update straight away or I may run into issues.
This is no slur on the people that developed C5 as I think it is a great product and I thought I would give just a little back but – This process has been very drawn out to a non-techie person. As far as user experiences goes this was a really bad one. Perhaps the process should be thought through a little better?

it sounds like something may have gone funky with your install because yes, when you host a site with us it is generally setup automatically and you get an email with the login info.
start a support request through the billing support area if you haven't already:

Hi Frz,
Thanks for the response, I think I have got it all running now except FTP with my own FTP Client so I will hold off for just now. I may well have to if I cannot upload files in a fluid manner (i.e using their own online FTP manager thingy).
D!!

yup it looks like we added a server to our server pool that totally doesn't have the right auto-install stuff setup on it, so you got a half-baked setup. Apologies.
> in your client area, click on "my emails"
> THere you will see an email titled "New Account Information"
> Here is details you need....
For the record I received other emails in this area "my emails" EXCEPT the one I needed.
Thanks
