can't open file manager

Hi can someone please help on this issue, I want to upload images onto my website, but I can't get the file mangager to open to upload. a blank screen just somes up that says file manager and that's it, nothing else.
did you install via simplescripts? if so, try reinstalling. they had a broken setup.
What Frz says is true. Dont try to install c5 through simplescripts. If you go for manual installation, there won't be any problem. We discussed this issue more than once in earlier threads.
ok if I'm using simple scripts then how what do I have to do to download concrete 5 from here and have it set onto my website to use it without the simple scripts
Bottom right of this screen click "Host Your Own" extract it to your webserve visit the page and install with the my sql info
ok I have it downloaded but how do I extract it to my webserver, I'm no computer nerd but I want to learn this stuff. Could you guide me through it alittle better. Thanks

Honestly don't understand where you're coming from unless your connection to online is dial-up. Manual installation is been simple and straight forward. Even uploading via FTP unzipped already is done in a matter of minutes with a good connection (great time to enjoy a cup a coffee ;> )
All but one of the last thirty installations I've done were manual. I'm more comfortable knowing ALL files are uploaded cleanly so I am saved time trouble-shooting problems later.
