Can't upgrade to 5.6 through Dashboard

I recently noticed on the Concrete5 site that 5.6 was released. I am running 5.5.2.1.

When I go through Backup & Restore >> Update concrete5 >> Check For Updates, nothing happens.

I was assuming that concrete5 would update to the latest version through this process.

Is their something I am missing? I would prefer not to do a manual update to 5.6, the process seems a bit complicated.

Any recommendations on my install would not be auto updating would be greatly appreciated. (I hope it is not related to running concrete5 on IIS 7.0. I am not able to auto update my add-ons, and if I can't auto update C5 itself, might need a different ISP)

Here is my environment information:

# concrete5 Version
5.5.2.1
# concrete5 Packages
AddThis (1.0), Automatic Email Obfuscator (1.2.3), Bootstrap Buttons (2.0.4.1), Bootstrap Carousel (1.0), Clicky Web Analytics (1.2.0), MindNet Clear Cache (1.0), Superhero (1.2).
# concrete5 Overrides
css/my-custom.css
# Server Software

# Server API

# PHP Version

# PHP Extensions

Thanks in advance for your time . . .

we need to update the updater to provide the download.

That will happen early next week after the 5.6 press release hits the wire.

Just fyi I wouldn't upgrade a production site to 5.6 unless you really know what you are doing.

Per the concrete team advice, I manually upgraded a test site and it got wracked. Probably due to some theme or addon conflicts. I did Post the error message and yet to get a response.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 19456 bytes) in /DataDisk/Disk01/shares/cms5/updates/concrete5.6.0/concrete/themes/default/elements/header.php on line 53

Any help would be appreciated

Hello EXblue,

I am going to hold off until the auto updater is ready to roll.

And I will definitely backup my site and database before running the updater.

Sorry to hear about the manual upgrade not going well. I appreciate the advice.

Hi and thanks for a brilliant piece of software!

Is there a date set for the auto-update release?

I still see the following i the Dashboard.

Currently Running 5.5.2.1
No updates available.

I'm hosting it on my own VPS in Sweden.

I've recently purchased and installed themes & plugins through the dashboard. Do you use different servers/nets for update / themes?

I've attached my environment

Sorry to bother you.. my mistake. I had forgot to install the curl extension for php. I still puzzles me though, how I managed to get the purchased stuff to the server...

So I'm a bit confused. When I click "Update Concrete5" in the "System & Settings" page of the Dashboard, it takes me to a "Download Update" page. The only option is to download.

is this a re-install or an upgrade?

Do I just Unzip this over my current install?

I don't want to muck things up.

Thanks!

Oh never mind. For some reason, the "Upgrade" button suddenly appeared. Go figure. The upgrade completed without issue (so far.)
