Column Cruiser Width
Permalink 1 user found helpful
I am using the "Column Cruiser" theme, but I can't change the variegated background. (I was able to change the color of the column backgrounds, but it left a wide border in the default color. I also need to change the width of the columns. I know next to nothing about code, please help me.
I changed the back ground by making my own in photoshop and saving it to the file name of the original background. I then uploaded the file and overwrote the existing file. I'm no expert and cant tell you straight up how to change the columns width but if I were trying I'd start looking in packages/theme_column_cruiser/themes/column_cruiser it maybe in the main css file but I dunno. What I do is mess around in there til I mess something up and then come begging for help.
Okay... I understand vaguely what you're saying about overwriting the background... but not completely. Would you be able to explain in a little more detail? Sorry... totally new to Concrete.
Also, I went to packages in my FTP client, and it says "Empty Directory Listing". Am I doing something wrong?

ok fist I right clicked on the background ans selected view background image or something like that. I saved it and opened it in photoshop. I then edited it like I like it and then saved. next i went to my ftp transfer looty doo and found the background file in /packages/theme_column_cruiser/themes/column_cruiser/img. I then uploaded the file I saved in photoshop and the ftp client ask me if I wanted to overwrite and of coarse I said yes.
not sure why you cant see the directory in your ftp client but it may be you dont have the ftp account setup with access to the directory. I'm just learning all this myself and not sure if I'm really helping or not.

You're a genius! That worked perfectly... with one problem. The top part is exactly right... but the bottom of the page is just white. I'm assuming this is a setting in the code... but I again have to plead ignorance. Any ideas? :(
(P.S. I got into packages on the second try... not sure what was going on the first time. Thanks! :))

so sorry. then dude if it makes someone mad maybe you shouldnt link us to your site
nada, just because people dont respect the creative commons licence...
Im sorry, and I apologize for being to dumb to know the problem. are we not supposed to edit these themes?
sure, do what ever you want with it :)
Just to clearify, e.g.:
Theming must be really hard in Drupal, that's why i guess those guys are charging extra money (40€/95€) for it besides the offical yaml (59,50€/119,00€) licence:
http://www.yaml-fuer-drupal.de/de/nutzungsbedingungen...
The concrete5 integration does cost nothing. If you want to remove the yaml link, you "only" have to grab the offical yaml licence.
If you do so and like it, feel free to donate at paypal to nit_ro(a.t)online(dot)de

I hope someone understood that, cuz all I can make sense of is "sure, do whatever you want with it"
... and respect the license it's released under.
theres a way to auto fill the empty space but im not sure how to do it exactly in column cruiser. but I think you can just save a taller background image or just overwrite yours again with the one I've attached for ya.Just click on the lil paper clips and select download.
Your attachment worked! Oh my gosh, thank you SO much!
Its a rare occasion I can help,Im happy I could.
