concrete5 world tour!!

Okay well world tour might be over shooting until we get some internationalization issues resolved in a way we're really comfortable with.. buuut...

We are thinking of putting together a tour of the states and various countries that are down with English in the summer of 2011.

Several activities come to mind:
1) Meet and greet at local meetups. I know places like Twin Cities have an active concrete5 community and we'd like to drink a lot of beer with em.

2) Agency shill. We've just started doing this in Portland recently and it's been a total success. "Hi, I run concrete5 a free and awesome CMS and I want to show it to you for an hour so you can have a happier life".. The meetings always go well, we leave a lot of turned on people in our wake.. Going on the road with that sounds fun and exciting if we can simply get in the door.

3) Training sessions. We've started doing more and more training online, what about doing some in the flesh?

So questions...
Where should we be going? Who wants to see us? What can we offer that I'm missing? Yadda yadda...

I'd actually like to see a video of 2) - I think it would be good to have kind of a script to go through and show the agencies around town. There are a lot of devs here in the Twin Cities, but not a lot of agencies into it. It would be great to start converting them, so there was freelance work for me to do :)

Totally offering up a futon to one of you if you want to make it a cheap trip...

Hi Franz

We (Open Juice) would be very interested in this. We are planning to start a London Meet up in the new year for all things concrete5.

concrete5 is going to be very high on our Agenda in 2011 so we would love to help in anyway we can.

Many Thanks

Bruno

Hi Bryan, I am also from Omaha. Is there a C5 user group here? I would be really interested if there is.

I'll second that Bruno - I'd be happy to help out with a UK meetup and if the C5 guys were to come over to the UK, I could probably see my way to sponsoring that in quite a significant way...

@Bruno, I'm gonna drop you an email in a short while re: meeting up...

@Frz, if you wanna pay our little island a visit, we should chat :)

We want to go everywhere.

We were already hoping to afford a trip to the UK this summer, and of course Katz has created a huge community we need to visit in Japan as well.

The only concerns I have about international travel is if we can afford it, and if we've been able to really address some of the international issues with concrete5 today so the trip is worth our while.

So by all means, if you've got some people who want to pay for training or some projects we can do to help finance this bad boy, please private message me. We're very excited about this.

meh i kinda felt weird about the SXSW thing but it was great that we raised the better part of 5k to go there. I can tell you I lost a lot of time updating that d*mn million dollar home page graph of pixels..

We might resort to that, but I'd rather setup a training/consulting type deal so people are getting some real value for their money.

Any plans to be in the Southern California area? I know our agency may start adding Concrete5 to their list of CMS's offered, and I know our Biz Dev / Tech would like to know more - but if you're in the area, we could certainly host you for lunch!
