concrete5 Site in IE
Permalink
Hey, Have you looked at your site in IE vs Firefox. Displays well in Firefox but's it's broken in IE.
Will this be the way my sites look if I use concrete5 ?

the c5 dashboard (editing a site) doesn't work with ie6. You can still build a site that works with ie6 tho!
are you talking about concrete5.org or about a site you want to edit with c5?

When I go to your home page (concrete5.org), using IE v7 (latest download), the site appears to be broken (oversized text that's scrambled, per attached graphic). It looks fine in Firefox.
My concern is if I download and install Concrete5 are my sites going to look like this in IE or is it only a problem with concrete5.org
(Is concrete5.org done with your own software ?)

concrete5.org has been built with concrete5.
however, I can't fix that layout problem... I'm not part of the core team.

to post the same thing. I tried on several machines and all were the same. On the homepage in IE7, the text is "off"
Yeah.. I think we 'ffd that up when we replaced the "Expect more.." text with the more SEO friendly paragraph that's there now.. we'll fix it asap.
When I try to view the site I just built with Concrete5 using the IE browser, the home page text is missing. The home page is blank except for the navigation and header graphic. The other pages are fine. Is this going to be fixed? Please let me know.
P.S. - Absolutely love Contrete5!

wait, this is something related to your site's CSS and content, not the CMS. you're replying to a thread about content on our home page here a long time ago.. there's no bug to fix unless I'm missing somehting.
Please take a look at this in IE. I have tried it on two machines with fairly recent versions of IE. Same result, no text on the home page.
Thanks in advance.

concrete5 core team is not planning to support Internet Explorer 6 (I'm not the core member though).
You need to upgrade the IE to 7, or keep using Firefox.
It does not make sense to me to keep supporting a dying browser.
But if your IE is 7, and have the problem, it would be nice to have a screenshot of the problem and attach it so what I may be able to troubleshoot.
