Connecting to Verifying Ownership - Google
PermalinkI'm trying to verify the ownership of my site (hosted through Concrete5) for Google so that I can create an email address that will look like "example@mydomainname.com," as opposed to "example@gmail.com."
It gives me four options:
1. Add a DNS record to your domain's configuration
2. Add a meta tag to your site's home page
3. Upload an HTML file to your server
4. Link to your Google Analytics account (which I don't have)
Any help is much appreciated! Thank you in advance.
Hope that helps.
All you have to do then is save and verify with Google. Quick and easy,NO FTP NEEDED :).
That will get your site verified the quickest and then you can change your MX records later to enable your email accounts.
Google Webmaster Central will give you an option to download an html file with a name something like this:
google################.html
After you download the file, use your favorite FTP client (filezilla, etc.) to upload that file to the root directory of your website.
Go back to Google Webmaster Central and click the 'verify' link.
All this is by memory, which is kinda rusty, so hopefully this will be of help.
