Cpanel server upgraded, now concrete is throwing a White screen of death (no change in ip)

Last night our server was upgraded and now we have the dreaded white screen of death. It has been working fine for 6+ years but since this morning it is dead. I know this is a concrete issue as everyone else has been ruled out.
This issue is documented online but I haven't read anything on it happening to an existing site because of a server upgrade and I am completely at a loss where to start even troubleshooting this now the registrar/hosting/firewall tell me it isn't anything their end.
So to summarise, no major changes except the cpanel url has changed, ip is still the same and everyone is pointing to where they should be. The white page yields no information in the source and there is nothing online about Concrete5 white screen of death that is a solution or seems related to this case in particular.
Please help out if you have any leads, we've been down for 8+ hours now so any and all help is apprecciated

It could be a php upgrade that is incompatible with your version of concrete..

EDIT
There may be errors that are being suppressed by the server settings, ask your server admin to make sure error reporting is turned ON for your site, at least then you will have some idea where it is breaking.
