Custom Dashboard UI Creations?

As soon as we found about how powerful Concrete5 was we started using it. We, as designers, prefer to add our own touch to everything we design, and if we were going to start using C5 everyday for numerous clients (which we do) we wanted to make it look more like our company - so we redesigned the entire UI and back-end layout of Concrete5.
It took a considerable amount of time and effort but we did it and think it's more how we like to see a system designed (not that the original UI was in any way bad). Attached are some screen shots of our C5 deck.
Some of the adjustments we made to the standard UI are as follows:
1. In the upper right of the Dashboard there used to be a Flash graph. We added an iFrame that gives us the ability to promote our own products whenever we desire. Pretty slick - it's updated through our main server and will simultaneously update every C5 site we design with an ad from now on out.
2. We changed the "Help" section of the Dashboard. It is now our "Products and Services" tab. It's a help desk for our firm so we can try to fix issues for our clientele.
3. The "News" section has been gutted and the RSS feed has been placed there now so clients see nothing but what we want them to see.
4. We didn't change "Site Activity" section.
Images of the changes our firm has made can be found below.
Let me know what you think and don't be afraid to chime in.

Yeah you guys were going along the same lines as us. To make it perfect for clientele. S=You should keep it up man. This only took a solid week to manage. I work on it everyday. As we all know - no website or CMS is ever completely finished.
its safe to assume the entire dashboard experience will change with version 5.5
Sorry haven't been keeping up when is the expected release date on it?

Summer!!!!! Rock! I can't wait to see what I need to do to keep the current setup I already have with the new functionality of the 5.5 version.
I don't want to lose all the information and time my business partner and I have pumped into designing out our UI and along with the code manipulations we have done.
What should we do?
PS. Sorry to post this here as I know I've read elsewhere that this is possible and necessary in some instances like ours.

the dashboard is going to be pretty wholesale different.
Since we never really created an abstraction layer/over rider system for skinning it in the first place, we're not going to put a lot of effort into worrying about what people who have hacked rebrands need.
Not that I have any issue with what you've done. It's just at this point I just feel no need to make my life harder to keep yours easier on it. ;)

Dear frz!
And is it possible to skin the dashboard without touching c5 core code?
If not, will it be possible in the next (v5.5) version?

today there's no best practices for reskinning the dashboard.
in the next version we will build in a better way to co-brand the dashboard, and likely make it jive with an affiliate deal here too.

It is possible, you can use page events, you can check if the requested path is an admin area, and then apply a different theme.
