Dashboard Blank after Failed Upgrade and Restore

I upgraded a site from oh, 5.2 (?) to 5.5. It was fine. Then I upgraded it to 5.6 (the most recent) and got all sorts of errors. I restored the database and files and have my site back. EXCEPT, the Dashboard is blank. (See attached image.) The background is there, but not the dashboard. I can edit and add pages if I am in them, I just can't get to the back end. I've searched the forums with no luck. Any ideas?
