Download of twitter feed

Hi - I'm totally new to all of this so apologies if I'm asking a really basic question!
I have downloaded both tweetcrete and clevyr tweet to my site (I will choose one), but when I click download I get an error message on both saying:
"There was an error unpacking the file. Perhaps you have not uploaded a valid zip file, or you do not have zip installed."
I have unzipped to my desktop, is this the wrong place .... clearly I've not done/doing something right!!

Are you trying to install these through the dashboard or are you manually unzipping them and dragging them into your packages directory?
Your addons should be placed in your root/packages folder of your site. The error might be that the download got corrupted. Try to re-download them. Also check to make sure you have some kind of zip program installed.
Try to install the new add-on using your dashboard.
