eCommerce, IPN & Paypal's SHA-256 compliance

Hello-
We received a notification from PayPal stating that they are upgrading their certificate forhttp://www.paypal.com to SHA-256. This endpoint is also used by merchants using the Instant Payment Notification (IPN) product which we have used in the past year.
It appears that our IPN is set up through our eCommerce add-on and not through Paypal. Does eCommerce 2.8.12 use SSL connections that rely on the VeriSign G2 Root Certificates or VeriSign G5 Root Certificates to complete the IPN's?
