Ecommerce product attribute label

Hi, I asked this over on the ecommerce page, but haven't received an answer for a few days.
I created a product attribute called "short description". This is so I can show a truncated description of the full description on pages with multiple items.
Problem is, the name/label "short description" is visible on the page. Is there any way of hiding this label?

yes, go into edit mode on the page and you can edit the product to not show it, you may have to use page defaults
Hmmm, not following. Maybe I didn't describe it very well.
I want it to show up on the page, just without the label next to it. I've attached a picture to explain a little better.

You'd have to make a custom template for the block that changed the view layer so it wouldn't show the label.

I didn't even know about custom templates. I was getting ready to bust some css hidden! Maybe a little less dramatic though :)
