enable advanced permissions - oopps

New user here. I rather foolishly enabled advanced permissions before I'd really worked with the basics. Yes I know it was stupid, now! I seem to be tieing myself up in knots with permissions. Is it possible to backtrack? I have about 4 users but about 30 pages, I know it can't be as simple as just removing that line of code. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I'd also love to know where I might find more documentation if there is any.

There really is no easy way to "backtrack" once you turn on advanced permissions, you basically have to edit a tons of sql tables otherwise you will get tons of errors with permissions and such, i havent tried it myself (the backtracking part) but i can always give it a try. if you want me to look into it let me know.

Many thanks for that, I suspected as much. No please don't go to any effort on this, I've always got the option to reinstall and rebuild afterall. Besides, whilst I'm very impressed with the product and having great fun, I still have more serious problems to try and resolve. In fact I'm afraid I'm off to the forum right now to plead and beg!
Thanks again.

Don't do it! Once you're in advanced permissions, going back to simple will make all sorts of things go wrong - pages not show up, etc. You end up having to go back to advanced permissions and it will take forever to diagnose all of the issues.

yeah you really can't go back to simple once you go advanced.. technically that is - bad idea..

so backup first.
