equivalent to wordpress "posts"?

Hello,

I am totally new here and I am trying to understand how concrete5 works. It looks like a fantastic tool for a CMS. Everything looks like a simple operation. One thing I cannot understand is this.

How do I "in wordpress terms" create a "post"?

Currently to add a new "post" in wordpress I just click "new post" and it is done. The post is entered in the category etc etc etc.

I am having trouble understanding the concept of doing the same thing in concrete5.

Do I create a new page? is there anything equivalent to wordpress' posts?

I don't like wordpress that much but I use it because I like it better than the other CMS options. From what I saw in concrete5, if I understand the "how to create a simple "post" concept, I would change in a heart beat.

thank you

In concrete5 most things revolve around pages, so each post would be a page.

You can either make pages manually (clicking hitting add page button) or using something like composer (built into c5). Take a look at this to learn more:http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/editors/setting-up-a...

If you installed with sample content then composer is pre-setup.

Just to add to that, probably the closest thing to the wordpress loop, is going to be by using C5's pagelist block, with the pagelist block you can output excerpts, thumbnails etc from your created blog pages.
