Error downloading add-on
Permalink
I tried to install the vimeo block and got some ugly looking errors (see attached). I verified that I have a packages directory. When I try to install other add-ons I get the same error.
Any suggestions?
Thx

Is there any way you could re-post this with just a regular screenshot?
Andrew
Now sure how to paste a screen shot into this message. The word doc I attached before was a screen shot. I'll try again.

The file helper is missing which means that you didn't upload all the files in the zip, specifically the file /concrete/helpers/file.php is missing there may be others so just upload the /concrete directory again it should have no affect on the site aslong as it is the same version of the core

Thanks for the answer. I'm a bit new to C5 and could use some help on how to do what you have suggested.
- where do I find the C5 directory you mention?
- I'm on version 5.4.0.5. How do I find this version to upload?
- How do I upload it to my account?
Sorry for the basic questions, I'm learning (slowly)

i assume you know what ftp is and how to use it,
Download this:http://www.concrete5.org/download_file/-/view/15153/...
unzip it.
FTP to your server, find the directory name concrete, overwrite the concrete directory with the one from the zip file, overwrite any files

Thanks for this. I do need a bit of help setting up the FTP. I tried the other day and didn't connect. I'm using FileZila. It wants the name of the Host, User ID, Password and Port. What is the host name for concrete5 (we're hosting with you)and what do I put in the port field?
Thanks

Fernando,
I am now able to connect to the server so I should be able to fix the problem. My only concern is Franz's email specified SFTP and not FTP. I'm using FileZila which requires a private key for SFTP. Can you help with this?

I've got the sftp working but I can't find the concrete directory to FTP into. I used the file manager in cPanel to take me to the server but can't find the directory. Any guidance would be appreciated.
if your hosting with concrete5, then contact Franz or Andrew
So guys, I just got in there & took a look, it turns out that this error was caused by the /packages directory not being writable by the apache user. C5 was able to download and unpack the package, but it crashed when it tried to copy it to the packages directory.
Thanks a lot. Really appreciate your help.
