Exclude registered users from a site area
Permalink
Guys
I have an international sitehttp://www.fit4diabetes.com/ which has sections for various countries.
The Canada section now has a forum. I have set it up so site visitors need to register and be manually approved before they can contribute (ie add comments) to the forum. They can view it though.
What I want to do is only let visitors who are approved and entered into the 'Canada Forum' group by the moderator contribute to the forum.
It seems at the moment any registered visitor can contribute to the forum as soon as they login despite not being members of the canada forum group who are entered as being able to view the forum top page.
I have tried excluding registered visitors using advanced permissions but this also excludes the group Canada Forum who do have permission to view the page.
Does anybody know how I could do this please?
Ian

Have you tried excluding registered users and adding the Canada group to the included list? I would need to play around to be sure how to do it...
Hi Enlil
Thats exactly what I tried but when you do the Canada group are excluded too. It seems to exclude all registered users.

Might need to exclude from registered users, and include for a group set of registered users and canada...
Seems as though, then users who are only registered cpouldn't see it, but if they registered AND canada, they should be able to see it ?!

I think all users who register and are then approved become registered visitors by default. Excluding them then excludes all registered visitors even if they are added to another group.
Tricky one this...
