External SMTP Server Setup

Hello,

I'm trying to setup the External SMTP Server to use SSL. I entered all the appropiate fields per my ISP. When I try to send the form the email is never received and in the logs there is an error message "could not open socket."

Any ideas?

Sounds like either the smtp server isn't listening on the port you are trying to access it on, or the firewall is getting in the way.

Can you send mail using those settings from a local mail client?

Yes the settings are good. I'm only having an issue when tring to use SSL on the SMTP server.

suggestions?

OPenSSL wasn't installed on the server. After installing everything was fine.
