Extra < character when logged into 5.6.2.1?

Just upgraded to 5.6.2.1 and I noticed an extra less than character (<) hanging around near the #ccm-toolbar div. Only happens when I'm logged in.

See the attached screenshot for more info.

Oh and the same character shows up on dashboard pages too so I don't think it is a theme issue.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

I've seen the same previously & also posted it as a bug, but it seems like it is caused by some add-on. Though I haven't find that one.

Maybe I'm wrong, so double check with your installed add-on by uninstalling them one by one.

Any chance you could swing over to that bug tracker thread and add some env info. Really what I'm looking for in themes and addons. My guess is that some file has

I also have this issue, and have put results of my investigaton in bug tracker

This is not an add-on problem, as my site has no add-ons.

Cloned my production setup to a dev environment to test but no extra character in dev. So, looked at production again and the extra character is gone there too. Weeeeird! It was there earlier and besides running a backup, nothing changed on production that I am aware of.

Ah, intermittent issues. The hardest to troubleshoot.

I will keep my eye out if it happens again but otherwise I don't have any good clues for others experiencing this issue.

Definitely checking add-ons for naughty extra characters seems like a good starting point. (Couldn't find any in my case).

Same thing happen in my case as well. So couldn't troubleshoot it. Maybe some funny ghosts are there which cause this and suddenly changed his mind and gone away. LOL :)

I wonder if this is PHP/server settings/versions. Do you think maybe the production server did not have short tags enabled?

Both my production and dev servers happily work with PHP short tags. Wish I knew why it started working but... c'est la vie!

Indeed. Thanks for looking into a bit. Hopefully we'll find someone who comes across this with something obvious.
