Forms unreliable

I have a form that is acting funny. I'm missing entries (though that might be user error not clicking on Submit, or not seeing an error message that only appears at the top of the form). More troublesome is not being able to edit the form. At first I thought that was because there was data in the form already. So I started a new form but had the same problem. Clicking on edit for a form item the browser window goes gray, but nothing happens. Adding a couple of items after an initial save often causes the form interface to close suddenly without saving. Could this be addressed by updating to the latest version, or is the stock form block buggy?

I've never had an issue with the stock form, apart from having to style it better for 'responsiveness' layouts.

Could you supply a bit more info.

Part of the problem is the way block shows the success/failure message only at the top of the form. My form is relatively long, so if someone clicks submit but doesn't scroll back to the top they won't see if there was a problem. I had around ten percent of users submit the form more than once too. I'm not on the latest version of C5, but it isn't very old.

The problems with editing the form are another matter. Either the block crashes before I'm done, or when I try to edit an existing question nothing happens. I was guessing it was an issue that people had responded to the form so I created a new one, but I couldn't even edit questions on the new form.
