This post is aimed at 2 groups:
- Those looking for help on the forums, who want to get the best help in reply to their questions.
- Those providing help on the forums, who would like to point those asking for help at a resource that helps gather more information.
The resource is the recently published HowTo

In addition to general guidance, this HowTo also provides information about screen capture (wonderful for adding clarity to many forum questions) and using the developer console (often what experienced developers will suggest and ask for to help diagnose a problem).
