GREAT NEWS!!!! A feature rich blog package

Hi all

I got a privelage today of viewing the debut of ScottC's and Jereme's BLOG PACKAGE. It is being submitted to the marketplace today and hopefully will be available to purchase in the next couple of days.

Now I haven't had the chance to beta this package but from the video, it is very easy to use and is very feature rich. I think WordPress now has a good competitor now that C5 has a BLOG package.

Here is the link to the vimeohttp://www.vimeo.com/5982628

Check it out!!!

Just checked out that video, that is some really impressive work!

Congrats to the guys for their efforts. It will definitely be a great addition to this already awesome product!

So I should hear back in the next few days. I enjoyed working on this and as long as it is well received I plan to spend at least 15 hours per week continually improving it/adding new features.

Jep, it looks really nice! Nice and clean GUI! I really like that you've built "real pages"

Does it already support track- and pingback?

just wondering - what's the price we're looking at on the blog package?

I am co-writer so I can't speak for Jereme, but I believe currently the app in the vid will be $35, and I would personally like to make 1.1 (chomps away more at wordpress feature set) $55 but still keep 1.0 around. If we can only have one version up in the marketplace then I will probably set up some sort of website with purchase direct there, I will probably need to get that ironed out for unlimited commercial licenses etc anyways.

but I will look into using this sort of functionality, right now actually ;)

Thank you for the suggestion.

Jep, they are spammy, but I always liked to know who's linking to my site and it's usually quite easy to filter spam there..

Have you thought about supporting this?
http://pingomatic.com/

I've got a few blogs where it is about speed all the time. Being the first to publish a story is quite important and therefore it's important to be on google & co very quickly too..

But I do like the idea. This is an automattic product and I don't know that it is available outside of wordpress.

we went through a bit of a name change and had to do a pretty thorough find and replace, but the new version is submitted and it should be here soon.

I will be on vacation when this posts(hopefully) but Jereme will be handling support until i get back, although the app is bug-free(to me) as of now :)

Well guys, you're doing great stuff. Good job.

Many times ago, I have made a request for this kind of feature blog; but at that time there was too much urgent else things needed to do. But now, C5 can be a real competitor... watch out, the best is yet to come!

Big thanks again and again and again...

God bless you Jereme and Scott.

I like it. I agree that you'll definitely need to put some pingomatic action in there before it becomes a substitute for Wordpress, but besides that its good to go imho.

I'm sad we did a number of things the way we did before this was released, but there's always the future to change stuff.

Our blog is on wordpress:http://jots.drsandassociates.com... and I would've much rather had it be part of our C5 infrastructure on the main domain, but oh well.
