Help! File Permissions - Invalid File
Permalink 1 user found helpful
As soon as I apply a permission to a file other than the default where Guest can view, it gives me "Invalid File".
i.e. /index.php/download_file/view/174/ -- if I go here, it's fine under default, but I'm logged in as super-admin and if I set this file permission to be not viewable by guest, only by admins, it gives me Invalid File.
(also if I go /index.php/download_file/view-inline/174/)
Advanced Perms = ON

anyone?
I just started having a similar problem. I have a PDF that I want everyone to be able to download, and it's accessible from a page that doesn't have any restrictions, but unless you are signed on as an admin, it gives you an 'invalid file' message when you try to download. Otherwise, works fine when I am logged in as admin.
I had a similar problem with Advanced Permissions. If you go under Dashboard > System & Settings > Permissions & Access > File Manager Permissions and then add Guest to View Files, it should allow anyone to download the file on the front end.
