how to get into search engine
Permalink
Ok i'm new to this and I want to know how to get my site listed in the search engines such as yahoo and google. i
"Don't pay anyone"?
Some of us ethically make our living helping people boost business through higher search rankings :)
That said, Frz is correct: there is lots of freely available info on how to get indexed. I will say this: don't pay for search engine submission - that's not SEO, that's fraud. Best option is to get some links to your site.

Forgot to say ... give me your URL and I'll check if there are any obvious blocks to search engine crawling.
hey I appreciate the feedback on my issue, my url ishttp://www.mysocialtactics.com ,
by the way, you said get some links to my site, any information on the best route to going and doing that, I understand the webcrawling through other links to your site, but what is the best route to go here??
It's like a gourmet meal - you need good ingredients (ideas), good recipe (site presentation) and you have to turn out good food (a well-planned site that is engaging you users). Then, to have a great dining experience, you have to serve your meal on a great plate with nice cutlery. Serving gourmet food on a paper plate (think good content in Flash, or using javascript navigation) makes for a disappointing experience.
If someone has a great dining experience they will tell their friends (links, Tweets, email, Facebook, txt msgs).
That's some theory - the practical is a lot longer than I can post here. Simple answer is be interesting, then get involved in online communities related to your content (blogs, forums, FB groups, etc.).

Your site have been indexed, but I'm unclear as to the purpose of the site. It comes across as disorganized, with no clear purpose or call to action.
What's the purpose of the directory links?

yeah, I'm the site is still in the process of being built, it may look disorganized, but I'm working a full time job, and raising two kids while trying to build my site so I'm limite with time. These things take time and it may be another few months till i'm where I want my site to be, so don't hate. But thanks for the info, well appreciated
Wooops, I didn't mean to be disparaging to your whole industry. ;)
I think for folks new to the web working on a budget it's probably worth learning a bit about what SEO works and what doesn't before choosing a vendor to work with..
That sound better? <grin>
