HTML Highlighting in HTML Editor

First things first, I am using Concrete 5.6.2.1.

Ever since I first used the HTML editor, I thought it was lacking, enormously. For starters, I can't move up and down between lines with my arrow keys. This may be an issue with my PC, but I doubt it. I have tried different browsers to no avail.

That is less important than the next issue, a lack of HTML highlighting. This is a very basic feature. One which a lot of HTML editors have. Without it, the HTML editor is more of a text editor. Highlighting makes the code a lot easier to read. It makes it a lot easier to distinguish between the tags and the content.

For this reason, I have had to create the code in an external editor, I usually use Notepad++, and then copy it into the HTML editor. I feel sorry for those who don't have a HTML editor on their PC.

I highly recommend that some basic HTML tools are incorporated into the HTML editor. It would make it a lot easier and more enjoyable to use the HTML editor.

Sounds like a great idea for an Add-On.

That is a good idea. However people who are new to C5 wouldn't know that such a addon existed.

Indeed. There was some other talk about an HTML block that verified the HTML. That said, the sooner people realize all the cool add-ons out there the sooner they'll be more successful with their first site. ;)
