HTML5 isn't a supported standard and w3 hasn't even completed the draft yet. Although some things work in modern browsers, the standard may change before it's finalized.

So I would wait until it's fully supported :)

aka - like everything else in life windows is dragging behind. I can't wait till a company who gives a rip about their products overtakes microsoft. That's another rant though.

MOST of the HTML5 tag structure is pretty set. But sadly... like most other things...IE ruins all.

Yep, I hate IE...just follow standards please and thank you.

Here is the working draft for HTML5, as you can see it is not yet complete and there is still much to decide on :)

For what it's worth, I think Windows 7 is a great operating system, but there's a reason why I use Opera as my internet browser ...

Although, to their credit, I can't say that I fault them for not supporting a self-declared standard that isn't even finalized yet, and at least they don't shut developers out like Apple does, but that's also another story ... :)

that was awesome, thanks. looking forward to using a lot of that stuff, seems like it's been in the works forever though. the localStorage, new form inputs, font support, cavas, and web sockets seem particularly nice. some of that stuff i don't really understand the need for though, like web sql and some of the new html tag attribute stuff. there's some better support for text selection coming too, so hopefully that leads to some better wysiwygs text editors.
