I'm new here and normally use Dreamweaver, how easy is C5?
Hi all, I'm looking for a quick bit of advice. I've used Joomla on a site before and think that the management interface is too complicated for many clients to use so am very interested is c5 as it looks great.
I'm a designer and always build sites in Dreamweaver and had to get a development company to take my design into Joomla, but I would much rather do it all myself (they charge a fortune...).
Is it possible/difficult to take a design that I have built in Dreamweaver (standard CSS layout using div's etc...) and then sort of plug into into the concrete5 system? I see lots of talk of templates so would I have to bypass Dreamweaver altogether and design from scratch using c5?
I've read through the documentation but can't see any info that describes how a designer used to building standard sites would begin tackling a custom site from scratch without using or purchasing someone else's templates.
Any advice very welcome.
Thanks a lot for your time. John

Wow! That's settled it for me!
What a terrific tutorial, you should have a direct link to it on your homepage. After seeing that I would imagine most designers wouldn't give the likes of Joomla a second thought.
Thanks a lot for both answers, really appreciated. Hopefully I'll be up and running soon, I've already managed to install c5 on my server without problems.
Thanks again,
John

John,
To give an example, I can usually convert a themeforest template to Concrete5 in about 1-2 hours... I can usually get it 90% in the first 30 minutes, then it's just a little tweaking here and there.
Welcome!

If you do a search there is also a dreamweaver extension for C5 to quickly add tags and standard area code.

Try peaking athttp://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/designers/converting...
as a start in that direction.
There's quite a resource of "How-To" articles in documentation
