iMovie vs. Concrete5

Hi, I'd like to be educated, so please forgive this, what maybe be a "silly" question, but I'd appreciate your reply.

I'm totally new to Concrete5, coming from iWeb. I have two iWeb sites hosted by MacHighway. I'm trying to "re-do" one of the sites using Concrete5. I'm still at the learning stages here, but... and here is the question:

If I already have iWeb site hosted by MacHighway, do I really "need" Concrete5? My site is about a small non-profit chamber orchestra, with medium size content. I'll be posting videos, audios and photo galleries. Eventually, in the future I may use Paypal or Google CheckOut.

I'm not terribly satisfied with my iWeb site but seems easier to use than Concrete5. I'm not a developer.

Are there things that iWeb does that can not be done in Concrete5? Or vise versa?

Thank you,

concrete5 is a content management system. This means that it is a dynamic website, one that is much easier for your users to post content. with iweb, you control all the pages. You can have some user interaction, but not much. With c5 it may be a little harder to design a site but your users can have their own pages and can edit them. If you are just going for a simple website though you may find it easier to stay with iweb.

I agree with 12345j -- concrete5 is MUCH more powerful than iWeb, and hence there are many many things it can do that iWeb can;t. But, it is not as straightforward to set up and use.
If you are unhappy with iWeb, there are some other services that make building websites much easier, for example:
http://weebly.com
http://yola.com
http://jimdo.com

These are all very inexpensive (most have free options as well), and very easy to use -- and they all let you do much more than iWeb. None of them are as powerful as Concrete5 of course, but it sounds like you probably don't need everything C5 has to offer.

Best of luck.
