Inaccessible homepage after update

I am new to working with concrete5, and just took over working with this website. Updated to 8.2.1 and the homepage now reads this message:
An unexpected error occurred.
include(/var/www/c5/updates/concrete5-8.2.1_remote_updater/concrete/elements/vfx/head.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
Can anyone suggest what this means and how I should proceed to fix this issue?

It looks like the person before you might have put some things in the concrete directory (where they don't belong). If you look on the server does this file exist in /concrete/elements/vfx/head.php?
