Can you add some code in the index.php to check if the server actually read that file ?

Can you check the server logs ? maybe some errors there.

Then it comes from the server configuration.

You need to explore your site's server configuration and error logs to see what's happening.

I guess something is wrong in the php handler (maybe you just didn't activate the php handler).

Without further info, it's gonna be hard to help you ...

What's your server ? (apache I would say ?) is it your setup or a mutualized server ? if so, you probably want to call their support.

Hi goutnet --- can I request a phone/skype conversation with you???

I think someone tried to hijack the website and re-wrote the .htaccess file. It seems more like the index.php was erased or something.
