I need help launching Concrete5 on my win7 machine. I have downloaded and unzipped but all the files available don't have what I think I need to launch. Could someone please help a first time user?
Thanks

try the following .....http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/designers/installing-concrete5-on-wamp-windows-local-server/
Thank you. I'm on it.
Well that turned into a mess for me. The instructions are incorrect. I have been two days doing it over and over hoping I missed something the time before. However, I continue to get "Page not available" message. Any other ideas? I really want this to work.
At what stage do you first see problems?
Are you able to successfully install WAMP?
Are you able to successfully install WAMP?
Thanks for the reply. My problems begin at Stage 4. When I am adding adding
my new directory to: C:\wamp\www. I made a new folder in windows using
"right click" and I can see it under "my projects" when I am to the
localhost - wampserver homepage. However, opening it gives me
This webpage is not available
Whats a boy to do in this case?
Thanks again

Are you done helping me? I understand helping a stranger is a loss leader. All I need is an answer.http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/designers/installing... - is not an address to give someone in the future. It seems out dated and for me has been exceptionally frustrating figuring that out. But I do need help and although I am thankful for your efforts, I have yet to succeed.
Thanks

Hi Tom,
it's very difficult to work out exactly what issues you are having without being able to see what's going on on your PC.
You say you are at step 4.
Please can we confirm you were able to go to localhost/phpmyadmin and create a new database and user?
You have downloaded and unzipped concrete5 and have copied it into the directory you want to use?
What did you call the directory and what is the full path to it?
For example it might be c:\wamp\www\concrete5
if you go tohttp://localhost do you arrive at the Wamp admin screen as shown in the instructions?

Today I evacuated my machine of all related files and started over. My URL says: localhost and the appropriate appears. I click on my "sample project" at the bottom and I get a error. In the URL bar I get:http://0.1.218.170/ and the actual content of the page says "Web page is not available. I'll do what ever I can to help you help me. I get the process of helping. So don't be bashful if I don't give you what you are asking for . Tell me.
I suspect it has something to do with the zipped concrete files because I just don't know the correct method to insure it was actually un-zipped. But, I don't know how to prove it.

hello again,
I'd make sure the zip archive is properly unzipped.
The link you are getting when you click on your sample project seems a little screwy.
What did you name the folder that you put your Concrete5 files into.
What is the full filepath? It should be something like:
c:\wamp\www\concrete5 (where concrete5 is the directory that has been added by you).
