Install screen showing randomly on live site

I searched the forums and bug reports, but didn't see any reports of this. We have a live site running C5 v. 5.3.2 and randomly when loading a page (any page) the installation screen will show and the site appears to be gone. When we refresh the page, it loads the site. It's in production mode, cache has been cleared and we removed any installation files. When it loads the install screen, the URL does not change.
Any ideas?

That would happen if, for some reason, config/site.php was being renamed or moved or otherwise misplaced. If it were to return, it'd be like the site never went away.
Weird, the file is there and has not been renamed or moved. I checked permissions and they were at 744. Changed to 755 just to be safe, but not sure if that would cause the problem. Thanks for the quick reply, by the way!
