Is it just me that finds this really slow?

Hi, I am currently evaluating CMS systems to use for the websites that I design. I have ruled our drupal and joomla because they are too overcomplicated for my target users and was thrilled when I found concrete.

I installed it on my local server and couldnt help but notice it seemed really slow, taking a very long time to load pages. I then installed it on my live server on which I host my own website (http://www.nofus.co.uk/concrete) and its better, but still very slow. I also notice that even your website takes at least a good 6-8 seconds to load pages, why is concrete so slow? I would be interested to hear any comments people have.

Oh and by the way, all non-concrete sites are loading fine today before you blame my net connection ;)

site isn't slow for me at all. page loads in less than a second.

i have had issues with my comcast cable router in the past, and i think they make themselves quite clear with concrete5. Seems like the router eventually limits the number of connections you can make, and since we are calling a fair amount of javascript on edit mode, that can slow render down...

but no, for me - this site and other concrete5 sites are just as fast as anything else out there. And no, that's not because it's in my basement, the servers are halfway across the country to me.

is reasonable for me.. could be a bit faster - about 1 or 2 "mississippis" between clicks... considering there's big header images loading that's pretty reasonable..

certainly not 8 seconds.

Loaded really quick for me too. For a administrator logging in for the first time I imagine that it may take a couple more seconds to download all the administrative javascript and css files, but these should cache after the first load.

It took me about 6 seconds from Japan.

But once I cached all the javascript page in the first page... 2nd page took me less than a sec to load.

concrete5 uses many javascript to make it look good. But once your browser cache all the files... it goes really fast.

concrete5 is program. So it will take longer than the HTML only sites.

This is the balance between having manage everything on your computer using Dreamweaver, or run a programs on the server and browser.

Not slow here, from the Netherlands. First load almost instant and navigating just 2 seconds.

your site loads quickly from Switzerland, less than a second, but I also need only 9 hops to get to your server, and twice as many to get to concrete5.org..

Latency isn't that great if I connect to concrete5.org but hey I'm going across countries...

Combining the javascript and css files into one could help there..
