Issue with Concrete5. Site

Hi,
wanted to put this forward, as the problem is a bit of a mystery to me. the site was running smoothly last night, but as of this morning is giving me the following error.

Unable to connect to database.
A database error occurred while processing this request.

Fatal error: Call to a member function query() on a non-object in /mnt/local/home/brycetugwell/redzone.fusestudiosmedia.com/concrete/models/package.php on line 72

The site is not running the most recent version of Concrete5, as client hasn't wanted to update. Haven't had any issues with the site up to now, and client is reporting that no changes have been made durring the time that the site went down.

The sitehttp://www.redzone.org) is running on dreamhost.

Any assistance or ideas anyone can give would be great.

Thanks much, Bryce

Yes, I got that much, :) just wondering if this had happened to anyone else - without any particular reason. Exploring all the avenues...

I am at this point assuming that it is my host, as the same issue has come up on more than one of my sites (I have since learned). at the same time.

I have put in a ticket with the host and am waiting to hear back.

Thanks.

I was getting this error this last week, but it turned out to be completely unrelated to concrete5. turns out that my server had too low a setting for mysql's max_connections, and when it ran into this limit then mysql would crash. you might want to ssh into your server and try to log into mysql from the command line. if you can still connect this way, then it's probably something else.
