Just a note from a Japanese user.
One Japanese users suggested that why there is no theme which has 3 columns.
As WordPress started to changing the theme every year... I guess it's time for us to start considering changing the default theme?
He wants to have 3 column base theme as the default theme.

something with a large photo in the background like clearview...
To be honest, Plain Yogurt was designed to be a throw away for other
agencies to see as a blank slate. We never intended that so many
people would use it.
