LOVE CONCRETE5 - YEARS AHEAD OF THE COMPETITION

Permalink 1 user found helpful
We joined concrete5 almost 8 years ago - we remember falling in love with the option of adding and moving 'blocks' around a page - Well, almost 8 years, it seems the WP contributors have finally caught up and learnt something from Concrete5.
This (see attached) is what popped up on our WP Dashboard today - a new plugin to do just that. (albeit for the blog) 🤣

Hey wagdi

I have heard a few good things about the new Gutenberg web editing experience. They are also doing a similar plugin for Drupal 8 as well. But our agency is still faster building great C5 sites then any other CMS out there.

Concrete5 was in 2009 years ahead off the competition, that is not the case anymore.
There are many page builders out there, Wix and co. For WP there 30+ "Drag and Drop" theme builders:https://www.codeinwp.com/blog/best-drag-and-drop-theme-builders/...
Concrete5 is falling behind of the competition. Concrete5.org site is really outdated, that's not a good "Newbee First Impression".

With the launch of the 5.7 version and the limited plugins and no "Marketplace" eCommerce options anymore, the clients for Concrete5 are very limited.

The Block and popup site building is outdated, now we edit inline mostly!
Just take a look at ET Themes, there years ahead of the competition:

By the way, almost nobody uses the Gutenberg plugin, or going to.

Sadly, I find myself agreeing with all your observations, I wish it was not the case but it is!
