missing email in the concrete5 private messaging
Permalink
Specifically, this is related to the concrete5.org private messaging system.
It has recently come to light that when replying to a private message, replying by email, relayed through the c5 site, that the message was never sent and precisely the email I sent never made it into my sent messages and was thus not received by the intended recipient, this was a while ago but last night a similar case was mentioned to me by a potential client that was trying to send me information and the acceptance of my proposal, he sent 5 messages none of which I received or got added to the sent emails, its only because he found a different way to contact me that I didn't lose the job. A third C5 designer has confirmed that he has had such issues.
I am certain it's not something that we are doing wrong, this post is to alert others to the issue and hopefully get this resolved going forward.
Has anyone else noticed this or are we the only 3 with these issues?
Thanks
Martyn

Are you sure the message header in the email was left untouched and where it's supposed to be when answering? C5 relies on it to manage incoming emails.
Yes very sure, I fully understand the mechanics of how it works, as does the other two I mentioned.

I have the occasional PM reply go missing. It keeps me wary enough that I regularly check my PM Sent page, to confirm messages I have replied to by email appear on the page. I find that if it appears on that list, it will have been sent onward to the recipient (unless as next).
I have also had the opposite problem, that I stop receiving PMs or notifications. This is typically associated with a particular area of notification, such as support requests or forum replies.
Overall, PM are great for quick contact, but I would never rely on PM for business critical communication.

Thanks for reporting this. We are investigating. There have been some issues with email and we hope to have a solution soon.
