My business problem - solved
Permalink
Hi,
I just wanted to start of by saying that Concrete5 is a great CMS that I use for all custom web development.
I started a business a while back where I was going to create free Concrete5 websites with the e-commerce addon to people, and just charge a monthly fee as long as they used it. My customers wanted control over their content and products, even though they only had basic computer skills. To add value, I offered free training classes in how to add content and products, change designs etc. Basically, I wanted to reach regular people who wanted a dynamic website but could not afford paying lots of money for it.
After several weeks of training the same test customers, I realized that Concrete5 is not for John Doe with basic computer skills (and no web design skills) coming in to sign up for a website, which seems like 95% of the population. I wanted to go for quantity, and have them do most of their work themselves, which is different to how normal web design is done.
My solution was to spend the next several months developing my own solution, which can be found here:http://www.noobtrader.com and is completely automated and free to use. This is just my experience, trying to do something out of the ordinary with Concrete5, but people can not handle the technology yet. Maybe next decade?
