My websites doesn't show the linking required code

My websites doesn't show the linking required "code" to Enable the Pretty URL's to be set up in the .htaccess file

Im missing the lines of code

It doesn't show anything, just a blank Space

What should I do to resolve this problem?

Do you have an .htaccess file in your directory?
The code is as follows:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L]
</IfModule>

If that does not help can you give a bit more detail?
