This is the case with only one of my pages.
On that page, in the navi bar, all my pages are listed vertically, not horizontally. Am I overlooking something somewhere, because I cannot find where or how to correct this problem.
A vertical page listing just will not do !

need a bit more info, or screen shots
Under edit mode click on the menu, select the option "custom template"
choosing the options there changes the way your menu is shown. Try a few untill you have the nav in a way you want it to be.
