Need tabs in Main Nav to point to an external page

I'm building a website for a joint venture between a college in Ireland & a college in Wales. One of the stipulations is that there needs to be a Welsh version of the main pages - home/about/activities/team but the Forum & the Blog will be run in the English language on the main version of the website.

My idea to do this is to do 2 installs of C5 - one on the main host space & one in a sub folder called Wales. What I'll then do is build the main English language version of the site & put the forum & blog in here. Is there a simple way to have the links for Blog & Forum that I'll need to add to the main nav on the sub version redirect to the main site where they'll be located?

Is this even the best way to do this or is there a much simpler way to do it? I'd appreciate your thoughts on it.

If you want to add external links to your nav, just go to your sitemap in the dashboard, and click on the home page and then choose 'add external link' from the popup menu.
