Maybe just make the Karma ones self-upgrading. Obviously if you've got 16,000 Karma, you've also got the 1K badge, so it becomes redundant.
That's what you get for being such a superstar work-horse(!) I think you should be deducted all your badges and instead have one GIANT 'Mnkras' badge. ;)
