New C5 5.5
Permalink
I just installed a fresh version to check out all the new features and straight out off the bat I love it!!!
I love the fact the dashboard gives the impression of still being in the front end. I always found going to the backend counter intuitive to a cms that is "wysiwyg" but nothing is perfect.
It will take a little getting used to for sure but hey we are web designers if you are not redesigning your own site every 6-9 months or doing something totally new for your clients every few months you will get left behind.
I am lucky enough to have new clients regularly which gives me a chance to try new solutions and I am always learning from my previous projects.
I really feel that this is a step forward and if we can support c5 and send a few more dollars their way thats fine too...you should be passing these costs onto your client anyway. I am not fussed with letting my clients self serve in fact that's what I offer in the first place, a way they can self manage a website....with my open approach I end up keeping more customers then losing.
When I hand over a site I dont just become a web guy but I become a consultant, I ensure I become a part of their web strategy...with this change I feel this will help me achieve my business model even more so.
I do a lot of work for small design companies and the slick new look will definitely go along way.
Overall Iam really impressed with the new c5 Keep up the good work team.
