New Server Host Problems

I have recently been moved onto a new server to aid the speed in loading pages on my websitewww.www.jeannettesgreatcakes.co.uk... however the photos in the galleries are not loading. My host says the problem is the coding of my website but it was all working prior to the switch.

HI,

From looking at the link you sent the would seem to have been fixed!

Or is this the old site?

It is difficult to accurately diagnose an issue if we cant observe it.
If you need help in sorting this let me know

Thanks

I'd be wondering about caching: Varnish, Cloudflare, browser, c5, ...

Your site really does need bringing up to date, the cms system is far to old and the site it self not responsive (mobile friendly).

The coding of your VERY OLD website shouldn’t be a problem for hosting, maybe just the CMS version (5.5.2). New version is 5-8.1.

For hosting you’d be hard pressed to beat Krystal for cost and speed: http://krystal.co.uk/

If you need any further help contact me.

Regards
Steev.

A few months back I had to research for some hosting in the UK and ended up going with Krystal - excellent hosting in my book.

Always interested in UK hosting options.
I clicked the link to Krystal. 42.84s TTFB for their home page.
A few minutes later and it loads pretty much instantly, so perhaps it was a momentary glitch.

Thank you John.  My web host must be working on my website now. I can see when they try switching to the new server some of the content is missing.

My thinking is to completely redo your site and bring into the 21st century. Maybe a new theme or convert existing to work with the latest version of C5.

Is that something you would consider?

Fantastic cakes btw.

5.5.2 should be upgradable to 5.6.3.4, which is the most up-to-date legacy version of concrete5.

5.7 or v8 would require the site to be rebuilt, so would be a considerably bigger investment of time/resources/budget. Nevertheless, most web sites benefit from a rebuild every few years just like houses benefit from redecorating and renovation and your site is pretty old.
