New Site - nice but slow.

I love the new design and layout of the site but the first thing I have noticed its thats it seems slow.
I have notice that links and responses seem to take forever, where as the old site seemed far more responsive.
Are you running new beta code underneath or different servers or extra load ?
Click, wait, click, wait some more!

This design is much faster than the old site, but it relies heavily on javascript now, so if you are using a browser that has a crappy javascript engine (IE) then you might have some trouble unless you have a fast computer, Overall, for me its a lot faster.
we did have some problems for a moment with IE, but they should be resolved now. Some compatibility libraries were causing pages to take forever to complete loading, and when they did sometimes the styles would be removed. This shouldn't be happening anymore, though.
Your correct in the browser in use, as it is a little more responsive in Chrome than what it is in Firefox. I try not use any form of IE!
I ran a small test using Firefox 3.613, Chrome, 9.05, and Opera 11.01 and Chrome seems to bee the best in regards to responsiveness.
Just wondered if this was library issue or theme as I generally find concrete5 to be quite responsive in all browsers.
Either way, it looks good!

IE 8 is painfully slow, to the point of unusable even locking up the browser completely at time. Firefox Beta seems just fine.
You must of been working on the site last night. IE 8 is working fine now this morning. Sorry, I had not really visited the new site until last night and thought something was wrong. It appears to have been a "false alarm" :)
we're still battling our caching layer, every so often the thing
clears out these massive directories and brings the site to it's knees
for a couple of minutes. If its slow and you notice you're right near
the hour (particularly 11am and 11pm PST) that's out fault. ;)

BTW: Am I the only one who hates the autofill you see when scrolling down the add-ons page.
I never found this functionality beneficial, personally I would just sooner scroll up and down the page. And just try clicking something in the footer sometimes, you have to be quick before it's moved out of sight as the next lot of add-ons get inserted - LOL.

It personally annoys me,
I hate that. Suddenly everyone seems to be doing the infinite scroll thing. I'd rather get to the bottom and see some numbers so I have an idea of how many more pages I need to click to see everything. With infinite scroll, it's anyone's guess.
